graduation day April 2017, Koh Lanta, Thailand

My journey so far..

I started my yoga journey in 2013 when I was living in Perth, Western Australia. I went to my first class, like many others, looking for a new type of physical exercise. I was surprised to find I couldn’t do many of the poses and I could not believe how stiff my body was and how little balance I had. I went to the gym regularly but I was really surprised that I found yoga physically very challenging. But I quickly saw the benefits. I noticed my body ease into the poses after some practice and felt myself build strength and flexibility and I loved this change I was going through. I also noticed it was one of the only ways I could get my overactive “monkey mind” to slow down. Soon I was practicing 4/5 times a week, I was fortunate enough to have amazing teachers who taught me so much and helped me deepen my journey and I found myself wanting to learn more about the asanas, anatomy, the history, philosophy, meditation and pranayama so I decided to do my teacher training.

I did my 200 hour yoga teacher training In Koh Lanta in Thailand with Dr Gaurav Malik - Ashtak yoga school in 2017. It was an intense, physically and emotionally challenging 4 weeks but an amazing opportunity to immerse myself in the practice and learn everything Gaurav had to teach us. I learned more than I ever thought I would and couldn’t wait to continue my journey and learning.

Over the years I have had the opportunity to practice with and learn from some amazing teachers in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Romania, India and Ireland. I have practiced many different types of yoga over they years and I discovered what resonated with me.

I have completed over 900 hours of teacher training including, Hatha, Vinyasa, Akhanda, Yin, Restorative, Nidra, Prenatal and Yoga for children. I am also a Pilates teacher and Reiki practitioner.

I discovered my teacher Dr Yogrishi Vishvketu of Akhanda Yoga Institute through one of my teachers and friends and completed Prenatal Teacher Training in Akhanda Yoga Institute in Rishikesh, India in 2023. I continued to study under Dr Yogrishi completing 300 hours advanced Teacher in 2024. I am a proud member of the Akhanda yoga family which originates from the Adi Nath Shiva lineage which is over 6,000 years old.

I now teach in locations in the beautiful West Cork. I teach Akhanda Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, Prenatal Yoga and Pilates. I teach weekly classes, workshops, retreats and host events. I feel so fortunate to be able to share what I have learned over the years with people and also continue my learning through my own practice, teaching, completing more trainings and reading. I believe you are forever a student, in every aspect of life and there is so much to learn.
