Class Descriptions:

Vinyasa Yoga:
Vinyasa is a flowing style of yoga. In my vinyasa classes we begin by grounding ourselves with some pranayama (breathwork) we will then warm up the entire body, flow through some sun saluations, a standing sequence, seated, forward folds, backbends and floor work. I like to offer plenty of variations to suit everybody as we all have completely different bodies so every class can be altered to how you are feeling or any injuries you have. If you want to challenge yourself the opportunity is there. We will finish with a relaxing savasana to allow the body to rest.
Dynamic Vinyasa; working on mobility, building strength and improving flexibility. Plenty of variations, suitable for all levels.
Sunrise Vinyasa; morning energiser at a slower pace. Suitable for all levels.

Yin Yoga:

Yin is a meditative style of yoga. In Yin we make a little "Yin nest" with blankets, pillows, bolsters, blocks and plenty of layers to get comfortable and warm. Poses are floor based and held in stillness for between 4 and 8 minutes to allow us get into the deep facial network, ligaments, joints and bones. We hold these poses at a 7 out of 10 so we can find our edge. These long held poses also allow us to go inward, each pose is like a mini meditation, we have a chance to observe our thoughts and practice acceptance and surrender bringing deep calm. We finish our practice with Yoga Nidra. Yin bringings deep rest to the body and mind.

Pilates:

Pilates method is a body wide toning strengthening and lengthening exercise method which is low impact and inclusive of all ages and abilities. Pilates is known for it ability to increase balance between the core and the more superficial muscles improving postural alignment and flexibility.. We work on stability which is created through the balance of intrinsic and extrinsic muscle strength and flexibility.  Pilates moves tend to target the core, although the exercises work other areas of your body as well.
Pilates is currently available at Caheragh Community Hall and Bantry, Cork.
